From 2021, the owners of large office buildings, industrial and warehouse buildings and garages have a legal obligation to organize fire safety inspections of their buildings.
The first mandatory fire safety inspection must be carried out and the corresponding report must be submitted:
- for office buildings with an area of more than 750 m2 by 1 January 2023
- for industrial and warehouse buildings with an area of more than 1,000 m2 by 1 January 2024
- for garages with an area of more than 1,000 m2 by 1 January 2025
The obligation to carry out fire safety inspections rests with the proprietor of the building. If the building has several proprietors (such as an office building), the owner is responsible for organizing inspections. The purpose of fire safety inspections in buildings is to assess their fire safety. On our behalf, fire safety inspections are carried out by specialists with the appropriate qualification.
Our fire safety specialists:
- visually check the compliance of the territory, the building and the activities in the building with fire safety requirements;
- check whether the required fire safety installations are present in the building, in working order and maintained in accordance with established fire safety requirements;
- check fire safety documentation;
- evaluate the conformity of the activities taking place in the building to the main use of the building;
- in the case of a building with mixed use, all parts of the building are checked;
- check the fire safety of the building and the readiness of persons to act in the event of a fire (evacuation drills are not carried out).
We draw up a fire safety inspection report for the building, and if deficiencies appear, we will give practical advice on their elimination.
